Strong Results for Garrison and Steinke
It was a good weekend for Bobby Garrison and Gared Steinke, both of whom have strong connections to our area (Garrison is from Sparks and Steinke rides for the Reno-based Sinnister Racing team.)
Garrison began his bid for the 2011 WORCS title with a strong third-place finish at the opening round in Taft, California. After a stint on Husqvarna, Garrison is now on Kawasaki, and the new ride seemed to agree with him nicely as he bested many of this year's other title favorites at the opener. And if you haven't seen his 2011 promo video yet, you can check it out here.
Steinke made his mark via an 11th place finish in the 250cc class at the AMA Supercross in Oakland, earning the first SX main-event appearance of his career. Steinke qualified with a ninth-place finish in Heat 2, and then posted some very impressive lap times in the main, with his fastest being less than two seconds slower than the fastest lap of race winner Broc Tickle.
