Northern Nevada's Mike Mason earned the silver medal at the X Games' Speed and Style contest this weekend, narrowly losing out to Nate Adams in the final round.
Mason, a former career racer, had Adams covered speed-wise, but came up just short in the style category. Still, the medal was the fourth earned by a northern Nevada resident in this year's X Games (following Matt Buyten's step-up gold, Adam Jones' freestyle silver and Justin Soule's Enduro X bronze.)
Northern Nevada's Matt Buyten has done it again and brought home another X Games Step-up gold medal. Congrats, Matt.

For race fans, 2011 has been a delight. After a super-tight supercross season in the 450cc class, the 450cc outdoor nationals are shaping up to be a similar barnburner, and the 250cc class is plenty close too.
